Tonight! WDCR iRacing League S4, Round 2 - NJMP

Following on from the great on-track battles in all 3 classes last week at Watkins Glen, we head back to the more 'petite' NJMP Thunderbolt circuit for Round 2.

The new Touring Car class brought out a few new faces last week as well as instigating a few defections from some of the series regulars.  Apparently, the relatively modern and fast FWD car is pretty popular...who knew?

Ohioan DJ Alesandrini, took the overall victory and the TCR win, edging out Philly Region's Kenneth Housel and WDCR member Darin Treakle.  Utah-based, Forrest Landy (who still calls the WDCR home) and New Jersey's Christopher Laprus battled for the lead in the thundering Mustangs of the Big Bore class for almost the entire race with Forrest eventually taking the top step on the podium and Dave Fitzgerald rounding out the top-3.  Michigan's Paul Darling edged out Elias Roman for 1st place in the Global MX-5 Cup cars, with 3rd place going to Dennis Barret of the NW Ohio Region.
If you missed last week's live stream, head over to SYMtv's YT channel https://youtu.be/o0BPCbX2zTQ to get all caught up.

Speaking of SYMtv, we're working with them on a new twist for this week's broadcast...simulated rain!  Although iRacing doesn't currently include rain as a weather option (thankfully), the boys at SYMtv will use a rain-effect overlay during their broadcast to simulate the look of drizzling rain and the on-track conditions will mimic a foggy damp NJ weekend.  Now that's cool!
Wednesday's broadcast will begin with qualifying at around 8:00 PM EST and continue through the 25-minute sprint race kicking off at 8:30 PM EST.  Here's the link to Round 2 at NJMP:https://youtu.be/xOfQLzvMgWc.
